Field Recordings from a St. Patrick's Day Parade

Presented here for you to consume with your next meal of potatoes and whiskey are two field recordings from the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New Haven, Connecticut, Anno Domini 2011.

The first sample was recorded while traversing the pre-parade vuvuzela hysteria. Or is it a conductorless monotonal trombone marching band warming up for the big day?

The second recording captures several minutes of the actual event replete with exciting emergency vehicle sirens, droves of droning bagpipers and hordes of drunken imbeciles shouting inanities at horses.

Dec 29, 2003, Monday, 7:25 a.m.

(No entry)

Friday, January 2, 2004, 10:58 p.m.

I went to Jan at 11:15 1:15 p.m. today. She was pleased about the way I was doing. Bill M. was on Channel 10 this evening, only he was not able to talk by himself. I went to bed before he was over. Warren gave me 2 cal. and mag. pills.

Dick called me today. I told him I would give him three hundred dollars so he could move into his apartments. He gets his pension check about the eighteenth of January. He will be able to paint the apartments when people move out. Also they don't have anyone to finish furniture.

Monday, February 3, 2004, 9:55 p.m.

Since I wrote my last page a lot has happened. Dick didn't move into the apartment he intended to. He hasn't moved yet. He will move into the low income apartments on Byber on February 18th.

I have left Dave for good. I am living with Mary, Warren and Julian. We had snow and ice late January. Was snowed in at Colleen's and Lewis's house for seven days. Ross was unable to drive his car out, so we had a good time. Colleen was able to get to work. She either walked or drove with friends from work. They had a good time playing in the snow. They took their round disks and slid down the hills by Lewis's school.

When the snow weather allowed, I moved back to Mary, Warren and Julian's. We are looking for a larger house. Last Sunday Saturday we drove to West Lyne and looked at the house we bought. It looked better than last time I saw it. Mary and Warren loved the house even more and wanted to move into it. Dave put the kibosh on it. I told him it was my house also. He said remarked he couldn't afford it. He's trying to rent it. He would have to sell Laurelhurst first, so that's off for now.

He returned to Mary's and, with Steve, watched the Super Bowl game. Carolina and New England played. Carolina won. It was their choice because they were the underdogs. (What's that mean?)

I'm going for the third time to Doctor S. tomorrow. He put my five ribs in place. I am also going to Doctor _____. He is a Chinese naturopath. He is very good. I like him very much. I will go the fourth time on Friday. The first two visits were mostly talking. He has two interns helping him. Last time he gave me a physical exam and did acupuncture. He thinks he can cure my Bell's palsy. His treatment helped me, but I'm still being plagued with negative energy. I didn't talk with Dick today. He has been calling every day. In my last visit with Dr. _____, I told him who I am. We have been talking a lot. He wanted to know my beliefs. I've been honest and told him about Hexers, or negative energy people.

Sunday, 7 a.m., February 8, 2004

David's inches left me completely. I just have Kasaka's swelling and Larry's inches left. I'm down from 57" to 37". They got nervous because I know I have to get to 21" before my Bell's palsy can leave. Their liars were telling me I didn't have to get rid of my inches before my Bell's palsy left.

I'm sitting up because if I lay down, Kasaka's Hexers will make me go to sleep and add inches.

November 7, 2003, 11:17 p.m.

They lied to me. They have twenty-seven thousand Austrians left with sound. If I lay down in my bed, I am under their control and I'll have to wait another week before they are out of sound. If I stay in my chair and stay awake, my Bell's palsy will be gone tomorrow morning at eleven o'clock. This will make it a lot easier to have my cataract removed on Monday morning. They are trying to frighten me about the anesthesiologist who is a Vanishan. Dr. B. said I'll have no trouble with my surgery.

November 10, 2003, Monday, 4:11 p.m.

Betrayed again. Told Austria's Dreamers could not touch me. Well they did. I just finished their dream. Debbie was in it again. Scary dream, but she was freed. I was told all of Larry's water was out. Well it's not. It's being held in by his cataract and their dreams and Larry's also.

They are trying once more to keep me dreaming and David asleep, so we would miss our appointment by keeping me dreaming. Well I'm in my chair for the last time.

When my cataract's removed, the Bell's palsy and Larry's water also can be removed. This could happen right away because Ross had Sid and Beth on Venus rig a different morphine and Crystal Springs water hook-up up. This time he figured out how to inset the needles deep enough so they do not have to be removed—only when we change Annie's clothes on her arm. All other times the needles stay in her veins and she is receiving her morphine, even when walking, peeing or driving.

We are removing their Dreamer's inches only. When the cataract is removed we can also remove not only the Dreamer's inches, which belong to Austria because they are the only Hexers with sound and not many more now. When the cataract is removed, the water, which is Larry's, and also all the Dreamer's inches will be removed. They know this. Dr. A. set the whole damned hex with Larry. He told the remaining physics of their plan. He also told them to stop using In Hexes because he realized what Ken M. told Larry and warned him that if he used In Hexes it would, in the end, kill all remaining Hexers. As soon as Ken M. died, Larry jumped on the In Hexes. It took until May 5, 2003, to kill the In Hexes and until November 10, 2003, to kill their plan.

November 15, 2003, 4:33 p.m.

I threw the I Ching and asked if Dick was right about letting the Dreamers have their way, and the I Ching said told me he was.

He was here for dinner last evening. We had quiche which they did their darndest to ruin, but it was delicious. Also raspberry pie, the forbidden fruit.

On the way back to Margaret's we stopped at a forbidden store. The hex broke and Dick bought Vick's, absolutely forbidden, and Dove soap and a shirt.

On the way home, Margaret called the Coliseum and told Phil to have the Austrians to stop our car and ruin the alternator. It was their last straw. They lost 15 thousand Austrians, dead and buried. Also this morning they ruined our coffee maker, another twelve thousand Austrians dead and buried. Another of Margaret's bright ideas.

My Bell's palsy will be gone by seven o'clock tonight. There won't be enough Austrians to keep it in my body. It's not true that I have to be twenty one inches around the waist, but that will happen tonight.

(11:45 p.m., 17th of November)

Another lie. I have to sit in my chair all night to rid my Bell's palsy. I can't dream and if I do, no inches will be added, but even a small dream will completely end their power over me if I'm sitting in my chair. I had that small dream at 10:17. It was about my drops. I had to lie down in bed to put them in my eyes. I had already done it, but small confusion hit me. They lost fifteen hundred Austrians.

Phil is using Madge's hexes now. They cannot live past midnight. There won't be any more until five o'clock this morning. It is now eleven fifty-five. I started writing at eleven forty-five tonight. It is the 17th of November.

Dave and I had Christine cut our hair today. Also Dave's car is working. They couldn't find anything wrong with the alternator. Their hexes lost it. They didn't charge him anything. Another fifteen thousand Hexers dead. All Austrians.

One appeared at my door last evening in the guise of a Green Peace worker. I batted my eyes at him and kept him talking until he and his twin who was in the Coliseum lost their sound. In five minutes they were dead. Also five thousand Austrians who were in Portland. These were all Madge's and Phil's Hexer's. Phil and Ruth are telling me their's will all be dead by midnight and I can go to bed. Not true. They can't do that again. They will lose all their Hexers because they can't get into me. They are checking out now. These are also in Austria.

October 21, 2003, 2:45 p.m.

(begins mid-sentence) has to do it. Cindy from the 'Y' called Dave yesterday and they made sure I answered the phone. They should not have done that. They ended up losing 15 hundred Hexers, dead and buried. This released the hex on Dave and me and we went to Nature's, bought kefir, walnuts, choc chips, milk and banh mi, which I could never have. They ruined our dinner again last night and I threw the remains in the garbage. This could kill our food Hexers, especially tomorrow when I make wheat germ muffins, walnuts and all.

I'm in my chair again. Michael told them I better be because he brought all in from the circle and called his remaining Hexers in from his hotel and also called for 8,000 more Hexers into Portland.

I'm getting sleepy again, but this can't last because I'm in my chair. Bob and Ross are lasering my left foot—big toe to arch.

October 22, 2003

It's Debbie's birthday. Dick, David and I sent her eighteen yellow roses. Dick's message to her was "I love you Debbie and miss you. Hope to see you soon." We called her this evening. She was thrilled about the flowers and about Dick's message.

Beth called her before her and told her once again about her plan. She, Debbie and I are going to Paris this summer.

October 23, 2003

I'm sitting in my chair. I got caught earlier. The Dreamers are all dead, but Phil and Ruth have enough Hexers to rule me. They are bringing in eight hundred, but only two hundred are getting in. I'm going back to bed. Michael said they have all lost their sound. I have to be in bed to have Ross laser my neck and back.

October 24, 2003, Eleven eight p.m.

Went to Bob B.'s funeral this morning at eleven a.m. Dave was a pall bearer. We were not supposed to (be) there. We were hexed to sleep and they are afraid of me because we took over half of them out. The place was swarming with Austrians. We took them all out by 2:10 p.m.

Dick called me today. He calls me every day. A hex broke at 5:10 p.m. and we were able to rent Spencer Tracy's first movie, Housewife.

November 1, 2003, Ten twelve p.m.

One dream, it lasted five minutes, enough to break their hex. I'm sitting in my chair for the rest of the night. Phil has called for twelve more Austrians. That leaves them 1,000 left.

October 18, 2003

It's 1:10 p.m. I'm sitting in my rocking chair, writing in my memory book Michael put in with my things. I'm just being told it's a gift from Sid.

The I Ching told me if I stay up all night, sitting in my rocking chair—a gift from Sid & Beth, which they made for me—i f I don't go to sleep tonight, the dreamers can't enter me & put inches on my waist. If they can't, my Bell's palsy will be gone at eleven o'clock this morning. And if this happens, Austria will lose their sound & we will blow all Hexers up by four p.m. tomorrow afternoon. We will go home to Humphrey. It's been so long without my lovers & loves. I'll have Annie back. Life will begin anew. First time ever without those monkies on our backs.

It's been three thousand years since I came to Venus, and began to prepare for our trip from Venus to Earth. It took us seventy-five years to accomplish this. Any longer and the planets would crash into each other, and none of us would be here now. Austria is the last to go. I am listening to their sound now.

Ross is removing the last of Larry M.'s strings placed in my body when I was twelve years old, on my birthday. He used these strings to control me. They were to be the entrance to all the Hexers and their Dreamers. When these are all removed, they cannot enter me and I can safely go to sleep for the first time since I was twelve years old. At first they weakened my heart, then my lungs. This isn't all Larry M. did to me. He controlled my thoughts. And when I was six months old he placed a rock in my forehead and, when I was twelve, three pus pockets, full of his venom which was his blood.

Prudence and Ross were able to remove these four and a half years ago. This was their first real break. Jim Z. did this for me, when he removed the block from my first blood clot. He did this when Larry wasn't looking. Larry hexed me to get the flu and he ate it and was in the hospital for six months. At this time Jim—who is my friend and pretended to hex me with Larry M.—he removed the first block, which allowed us to remove all the rest.

Frances O. started the ball rolling. She was mad at Larry M. because when her twin died, he made her leave California and move to Hillsboro and they hexed Larry M. to die of the flu. Jim told Larry this and to retaliate, ordered from his hospital bed to send Frances to Salem. With this order Larry killed all her Hexers. So instead of Salem, he made her go to Eugene because Larry, my son, was going to Eugene to (University of) Oregon to become a teacher, because (it was) Larry M. (and) Margaret's idea to separate Larry and Beth permanently from each other.

He sent Larry to Eugene because Beth's parents were there and they could carry their hexes to you me in Portland and Eugene and Frances to Larry's and to you, when I was visiting Larry and they used Dave to carry their hexes to the YMCA and back to me. He formed a complete circle. Larry M. thought Frances removed his block to his pus pockets, but it was Jim and Frances. Jim couldn't, because he isn't a Hexer.
